The Raemerich bypass starts at the intersection of the A4 motorway and the CR110 and leaves the alignment of the Esch motorway. It is then diverted northwards, towards the Ehlerange slag heap, in order to bypass the Raemerich district, then runs along the Sotel site to cross the N31 by means of an engineering structure before reaching the Agora site.
The road project consists of the following elements:
The standard section (L = 1,650 m), corresponding to the section between the N31 and the A4 motorway, bypassing the Raemerich district to the north
The Raemerich interchange and a roundabout allowing the connection of the link road to the Raemerich roundabout by means of a new roundabout (80 m diameter) and a new carriageway between these two roundabouts, also providing access to the future Ehlerange activity zone
A collection network of 5,700 m of reinforced concrete pipelines with diameters ranging from DN300 to DN1000
Two underground retention basins designed as oversized DN1000 pipelines
An open-air retention basin of 3,700 m³ with siphon baffle and a 268 m³ grit chamber, as well as a reed-planted sand filter of 1,420 m²
Diversion or protection of existing infrastructure networks
Construction of a noise protection embankment between the new carriageway and the Raemerich district
Installation of lighting systems as well as specific CITA equipment (signage gantries, technical cabinets, masts and video cameras, etc.)
Horizontal and vertical road markings and safety equipment
The structures component consists of the following elements:
A structure at the Raemerich interchange roundabout (OA 888, L = 94 m). This structure is an overpass allowing the link road to cross the Raemerich interchange. The structure has a width of 24 metres and a length of 94 metres and carries 2 x 2 traffic lanes.
A structure over the N31 (OA 666, L = 122 m). This structure is an overpass allowing the link road to cross the N31. The structure has a width of 29 m and a length of 122 m and carries 2 x 3 traffic lanes.
