IB Green: Climate resilience of business parks

Urban Planning and Land Use Planning

LSC360 contributed, on behalf of the Ministry of Housing and Spatial Planning, to the drafting of the guide ‘Climate Resilience of Business Parks’ as part of the European IB-GREEN project.

In the face of heatwaves, torrential rain and growing challenges relating to quality of life and the environment, this document proposes practical solutions for designing business parks that are more resilient, more sustainable and better integrated into their local areas.

In particular, the guide highlights nature-based approaches: greening of spaces, integrated stormwater management, permeable car parks, rain gardens, green facades and roofs, and improvements to the urban microclimate.

Beyond technical solutions, this publication emphasises above all that effective climate resilience relies on a holistic approach: one that operates across multiple scales, is tailored to local circumstances and is developed in consultation with all relevant stakeholders.
