Daylighting of the Rombach

Hydrology

At the time of slate mining in Haut-Martelange, the valley of the Rombach stream was filled with slate residues, and from that period onward the stream flowed underground towards Rombach-Martelange. As part of this project, the stream is being brought back to the surface. During the planning phase, the main objective was to simulate the hydraulic conditions the stream will have in its design state. It should be noted that there are areas where the stream runs through forested zones, areas such as those described where the stream is daylighted, and underground sections that had to be analyzed and simulated in order to ensure feasibility.
