As part of the land consolidation process in the municipalities of Wiltz, Wincrange, Kiischpelt and Winseler, the Office National du Remembrement (ONR) is planning to maintain, partially renovate and extend the network of forest roads in the Eschweiler-West area. The aim is to adapt the roads for efficient timber transport by lorry. A total of 41 km of existing roads will be rebuilt and 7.4 km of new roads will be constructed, increasing the total length of the road network to 48.4 km.
LSC360 was commissioned to prepare documentation for various environmental procedures (EIA, Natura 2000, nature conservation permit). The focus was in particular on developing a new assessment approach for the project’s life cycle assessment in consultation with the Administration de la Nature et des Forêts (ANF, Nature and Forestry Administration). Such an approach did not previously exist in this form and is therefore a first in Luxembourg. The ONR also commissioned LSC360 to provide technical support in order to be able to respond quickly to questions or specific tasks related to environmental procedures.
