The legal framework for environmental procedures in Luxembourg has undergone continuous development in recent years and will continue to be subject to further adjustments in the future. In this context, depending on the planning level and project, it can be complex to select the appropriate procedure and commission the necessary studies. Against this background, the municipality of Mersch has requested technical support from LSC360, an accredited environmental consultancy, in order to
be able to respond quickly to specific questions or tasks.

General technical support in the environmental field
• Evaluation of municipal projects and advice on environmental procedures to be taken into account
• Feasibility studies

Support with strategic environmental assessments (SEA) and environmental impact assessments (EIA)
• Description of the various procedural steps
• Clarification of any additional studies that may be required

Application for SEA exemptions
• Drafting of the application for exemption with justification

Submission of felling applications
• Identification of trees to be felled and compensation requirements

NATURA 2000 assessments
• Assessment of potential impacts

Consulting and planning of CEF measures
• Support in identifying suitable compensation areas and implementing measures
