As part of the renovation of the tourist boat Marie-Astrid, a new floating pontoon was designed and built in Schengen to ensure safe and accessible docking of the vessel. The project included the design and implementation of a floating structure adapted to the hydraulic conditions of the Moselle, incorporating a mooring system on dolphins and access gangways. When the Moselle water level changes, the floating dock will be guided vertically by the dolphins while being able to move horizontally in the direction perpendicular to the river flow.

Key features
The structure OA2514 consists of:
• A floating metal pontoon stabilized horizontally by two guide piles (“ducs-d’Albe”) (in the direction parallel to the Moselle flow)
• A stepped reinforced concrete foundation block
• Two metal access walkways to the floating quay, hinged on the foundation block. The walkways will horizontally stabilize the floating quay (in the direction perpendicular to the Moselle flow)
• Two metal guide piles (“ducs-d’Albe”) anchored in the foundation block
• Steel framework S355: 70 tonnes
• Concrete: 800 m³
• Reinforcing steel FE500: 120 tonnes
