Mixed-Use Building “Square Mile – Jazz”

With a focus on a coherent architectural language both formally and functionally, this mixed-use building (shops, offices, and apartments) was organized according to a stacking of functions. On the ground floor are commercial and artisanal activities, on the first floor offices, and above that the apartments.

Commercial activities that require presence and visibility to the public space are arranged behind fully transparent walls, offering optimal light and visibility, thus ensuring their attractiveness on the Belval site.

The apartments are located from the 2nd to the 6th floor and are organized in a white, massive monolith contrasting with the lower levels.

The transparency of the ground floor and the recessed joint on the first floor contribute to giving lightness to the building and an impression of floating to the residential block.
