The Water Management Administration wished to assess the potential ecological impact of the improvement of sanitation infrastructure (WWTP, stormwater basins) on the receiving aquatic environments.
Our mission was to define an evaluation protocol using the available tools: physico-chemical monitoring of water during rain and dry periods, biological indices in watercourses with selected bio-indicators: diatom algae, benthic macroinvertebrates, fish…
In a second step, we established a baseline of the initial ecological quality of the watercourses before the implementation of the works (WWTP, basins). The definition of this initial status is based on the implementation of the predefined tools and the interpretation of the data. The same methodology will be applied after the commissioning of the new structures, and a comparison of the initial and post-construction status will allow evaluation of the benefits of these works for the receiving aquatic environments.

Analysis of the existing situation for different modes of transport (pedestrians, bicycles, motorized traffic, buses) and assessment of public space quality
Parking occupancy survey with differentiation by user type (resident / visitor)
Development of a comprehensive concept for active mobility and motorized traffic
Proposal of a parking concept to reduce “search traffic” in residential streets
Recommendations for public space redesign (traffic calming, prioritization and safety of intersections, landscaping, etc.)
