The project consists of upgrading the A3 motorway to 2 x 3 lanes between Croix de Gasperich and Livange, over a length of 3,500 m. This will allow the roadway to accommodate, in each direction of traffic, 3 lanes of 3.50 m, a hard shoulder (BAU) of 4.00 m, and a verge of 2.50 m.
The project includes the following elements:
• Widening of the main section over a length of 3,500 m towards France and 2,600 m towards Luxembourg
• Adaptation of access to the service stations at the Berchem rest area
• Securing the central reservation by widening it to 3.50 m and installing two rows of symmetrical concrete barriers
• Construction of a retention basin
• Foundations for the installation of noise barriers (1,000 m)
• Surface water drainage (6,700 m)
• Diversion and protection of existing infrastructure networks
• Relocation or reinforcement of lighting systems and specific CITA installations (sign gantries, technical cabinets, masts, video cameras, etc.)
• Horizontal and vertical signage and safety equipment
• Widening and rehabilitation of the OA1201 underpass
