Gasperich Park, the largest municipal park in Luxembourg, covers nearly 15 hectares along boulevard Kockelscheuer, opposite the National Fire and Rescue Center. As the city’s green lung, it offers recreation and entertainment while emphasizing biodiversity conservation.
The Drosbach River has been renaturalized along 810 m, with wetland areas and a floodplain forest, complemented by a 7,000 m² pond. A 4.5 km network of paths, including a wooden boardwalk, allows visitors to explore various ecosystems: dry and wet meadows, flower meadows, forested areas, an orchard, and lawns. All plantings are indigenous, and extensive management zones help preserve biodiversity.
The park also features multiple amenities: a multisport field, beach volleyball, a fitness trail, picnic areas, a large playground, and a restaurant. The diversity of landscapes – shaded areas, open spaces, reed beds, pond – creates a harmonious and varied natural environment for visitors.
