Foundations Pre-crushing Area

Concerned with a coherent architectural language both formally and functionally, this mixed-use building (shops, offices, and apartments) was organized according to a layering of functions. On the ground floor, commercial and artisanal activities; on the first floor, offices; and above, apartments.

Commercial activities, which require presence and visibility to the public space, are arranged behind fully transparent walls, providing optimal light and visibility, thus ensuring their attractiveness on the Belval site.

The apartments are located from the 2nd to the 6th floor and are organized within a solid white monolith, contrasting with the lower levels.

The transparency of the ground floor and the recessed joint on the first floor contribute to giving the building a sense of lightness and an impression of floating to the residential block.
