In accordance with the decision of the Salzburg regional government, the project designated as “Cogeneration Plant (KWK-Anlage)” falls under Article 2, lit. c) of Annex 1 of the Environmental Impact Assessment Act (UVP-G 2000).
It is therefore subject to an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) under Article 3, paragraph 1. For this purpose, LSC360 was commissioned by KAINDL Energy GmbH to prepare the environmental impact statement.
The project involves the implementation of a cogeneration plant using renewable fuels from the plant’s production residues, waste wood, and other regional bioenergy sources. The planned thermal combustion capacity is 150 MW, which will be injected into Salzburg’s district heating network.
