The commune of Vianden is bordered along its entire length by the “L’Our” river. Although the river has a very large catchment area, it experienced a major flood event following the torrential rains of July 2021, causing significant damage in the town center. This event also highlighted the vulnerability of other areas of the commune under more extreme scenarios.
As part of an interdepartmental project, LSC360 was involved in the study aimed at addressing the damages and inconveniences and protecting the commune and its surroundings from potential future flooding. The first step consisted of a precise survey of the existing situation.
