Pedestrian Bridge – PAP Syrdall

Steel pedestrian bridge over 80 m long with 6 spans, designed to cross the Syre River at the PAP Syrdall site.

The deck, made of corrugated steel and concrete, is covered with cast asphalt and supported by a steel frame, while the reinforced concrete piers and abutments rest on deep foundations using micropiles. A clear width of 1.5 m ensures smooth pedestrian passage between the riverbanks.

Key features

• Pedestrian bridge over the Syre on the Syrdall PAP in Wecker
• The plan geometry of the structure is determined by the renaturation project and the retention basins
• The metal bridge has 6 spans: 9.25 m; 26 m; 16 m; 10 m; 10 m; 10 m
• The structure has a clear width of 1.5 m between stainless steel handrails
• The main structure, made of painted galvanized steel, consists of standard HEB450 profiles reinforced with HEB200 braces
• A composite concrete-ribbed steel deck rests on the braces. The superstructure is covered with asphalt (3 cm + 4 cm). A 1% V-shaped camber evacuates rainwater to the central drains
• The frame rests on neoprene bearings, which themselves rest on reinforced concrete foundations. These foundations are stabilized by 150 mm diameter micropiles
