The extension of the inter-municipal school swimming pool doubled the facility’s capacity by adding a second learning pool, identical to the first, measuring 25 m x 12.5 m, with 5 swimming lanes.
The new building is organized over two levels — a basement and a ground floor — both perfectly aligned with the levels of the existing pool.
Spacious changing rooms were provided for students as well as instructors, who also benefit from an office, a kitchenette, and a dedicated room. The existing entrance was modified to create two separate access points, each leading directly to its own pool via the associated changing rooms.
In terms of energy, the new volume is connected to the existing pellet boiler. The entire building is equipped with high-efficiency ventilation systems, enhanced thermal insulation, and a system of photovoltaic panels with adjustable orientation.
The backwash water treatment system allows recovery of approximately 70% of heat and water. Rainwater is also collected to supply the restrooms as well as for irrigation and maintenance of outdoor spaces.
