Environmental Technical Assistance for the Fonds Kirchberg
Natural environment
The Fonds Kirchberg is the public institution responsible for the urban development and planning of the Kirchberg Plateau, located in the North-East of the City of Luxembourg. Numerous projects of varying scales and sizes are developed by the Fonds and may therefore be subject to different environmental procedures.
Since 2014, LSC360 has carried out various assignments for the Fonds Kirchberg within the framework of environmental procedures. Given their complexity, technical assistance has also been provided since 2019 to support and optimize the development of the Fonds Kirchberg projects.
General environmental technical assistance
• Assessment of municipal projects and indication of the environmental procedures to be considered
• Feasibility studies
Assistance regarding Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA / SUP) and Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA)
• Description of the different procedural steps
• Clarification of any additional studies that may be required
Preparation of tree-felling requests
• Identification of trees to be felled and the need for compensation or nature protection permits
• Assessment of impacts on biotopes, species, and protected areas
• Preparation of the ecological report
• Planning of necessary mitigation and compensation measures
NATURA 2000 Assessments
• Evaluation of potential impacts
Advice and planning of CEF measures
• Assistance in identifying suitable compensation sites and implementing measures
Monitoring and ecological supervision
• Ensuring project compliance with environmental legislation through ecological supervision or monitoring
